Sometimes things fall out of my brain and onto a canvas and I’m really not sure why or how. Most of the time, they’re trash! Total trash. But sometimes there’s a glimmer of “I kind of like this!”. These paper airplanes are definitely the latter.
My inspiration came from the challenge of decorating a kids’ room, specifically investing in pieces of art, that would make sense for a 3-year-old and all the way up to adulthood. What is cool when you’re a kid AND an adult? What colors speak to children? Pre-teens? Older peeps? What would you not be embarrassed to hang in your room or office, Molly?
The first piece that came out of this challenge was this: these candy colored, simplified paper airplanes. I definitely have to play with my color palettes, different proportions, and the scale of the actual painting, but I’d love to hear your thoughts about this while I’m still working!
And, if you have any ideas of what could potentially be the solve for this challenge, let me know!
