The third installment of rules that I live by is “When in doubt, wear what you wore yesterday”.
Once again, I seem to practice this way of being both literally and figuratively.
For instance, Mondays come so quickly every week that I’ve begun a secret tradition of treating myself with the luxury of not having to pick out what I wear. Instead, I just wear whatever felt comfortable on that Sunday afternoon before. I think sometimes you just need to think about other things besides where to find your matching sock and what top goes with what clean pair of pants. Spend the time psyching yourself up for the week ahead.
Also, I think this speaks to being comfortable in your skin. How many times have we all put on an outfit to be daring or out-of-character and just end up changing back into our trusty go-to sweater and skinny jeans that we wore the weekend before? I do that ALL. THE. TIME. I have to constantly remind myself that more important to concentrate on the conversations I’m having and hitting the punchline of a joke I’m telling moreso than looking hot.
